Two in possession of alcohol arrested from Male’

Police made the two arrests during an operation carried out on intel receiving of alcohol being trafficked to Male’ City from Hulhumale’ via a car. The two who were arrested have been identified as two 21-year-old men.

The car being used to transport the alcohol was asked to stop by the police upon exiting from Sinamale’ Bridge.

The driver refused to obey the order, and drove on. They discarded a bag in their possession as they attempted to evade police. 

A total of 24 cans of alcohol were seized from the bag upon a search.

Galolhu Police successfully chased the car and stopped the vehicle near Seagull, where the passenger and the driver were arrested.

The case is under investigation by the Drug Enforcement Department.
