The Urbanco Maldives Food Carnival, the biggest food carnival in Maldives, has kicked off at the Central Park in Hulhumale’.
The carnival, held by Urbanco in association with Think Association and Taste, was inaugurated by Urbanco’s managing director Ahmed Athif and Dhiraagu’s CEO and managing director Ismail Rasheed on Tuesday evening.
Speaking at the inauguration, Athif said it was the biggest food carnival to be held in Maldives.
Athif said the carnival isn’t just for residents of Male’ and Hulhumale’, but also other islands.
He said that such carnivals offer opportunities for small and medium enterprises to develop their business.
Dhiraagu’s CEO Ibrahim Rasheed said the company, which is the main sponsor of the carnival, is dedicated to promoting small and medium enterprises.
The Urbanco Maldives Food Carnival has stalls by top food and beverage businesses in Maldives, along with small and medium enterprises, offering free samples to visitors.
The carnival also offers additional entertainment, including a horror house.
Additional businesses have also set up stalls at the carnival, including cable TV operator SSNET, Simdi, Dhivehi Insurance, and Shady Cabin Rentals.
The carnival will continue until June 24.
