Indian worker injured in accident at Maafaru airport dies

A worker who was injured in an accident at Noonu Maafaru Airport which saw an excavator used in the development of the airport’s runway overturn has passed away.

Police said the worker’s death was reported to the authority at approximately 9:27am this morning. The worker had already been dead when brought to Maafaru Health Centre.

They identified the worker as a 35-year-old Indian national.

Police said the accident is under further investigation.
