Uchu pledges donation of 15 tons of watermelon to Male’ residents

Maldivian business magnate Mohamed ‘Uchu’ Moosa has pledged a donation of 15 tons of watermelon to residents of Male’.

An official from Uchu’s Champa Brothers told Sun on Monday that the shipment will arrive in Male’ later this week.

Champa Brothers previously donated 35,000 coconuts to Male’ residents for Ramadan, and have a shipment of 15,000 more coconuts on the way.

The company thanked the Male’ City Council for its assistance in distributing the donations.

The donation of coconuts had come after disease resulted in a shortage of coconuts in Maldives, pushing up the prices.
