The youth who was stabbed inside a shop located near BG Garage in Maafannu district of Male’ City on Friday night has been revealed to be in critical condition.
The stabbing took place at approximately 21:30pm tonight at a shop named ‘Krasa’.
Sun has learned that the youth entered the shop in order to hide from a group of people who were pursuing him. While he was inside the shop, two people on a motorbike barged in, and stabbed him.
Police, noting officers were attending to the scene, said the victim had been transported to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.
They identified the victim as a 30-year-old Maldivian man.
Although the extent of his injuries was not disclosed by the Police – IGMH’s confirmed the victim was being treated at the hospital’s emergency theatre. Patients admitted to the emergency theatre are usually in critical condition.
Witnesses report seeing severe wounds on his body.
