Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), on Sunday, reported that the injured motorcyclist in the dangerous car and motorcycle accident on Hulhumale’ Highway on Thursday has now been removed from ventilator support.
The accident took place Thursday afternoon.
Both vehicles had been headed from Hulhumale’ to Male’ when they collided.
The motorcyclist who sustained serious injuries in the accident has been identified as a local man working for Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
He was being treated on ventilator support at IGMH’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after initially being treated at the hospital’s Emergency Room.
Updating Sun on the man’s condition on Sunday, IGMH’s Spokesperson said he is now off ventilator support, however, still remains in ICU.
Police are investigating the case further.
Hulhumale’ Highway is a common scene of road accidents, of which some have resulted in fatalities.
