10 apply for two vacancies at Criminal Court

10 candidates have applied for two vacancies on the Criminal Court bench, according to the Judicial Services Commission (JSC).

JSC is seeking to fill vacancies at the Criminal Court, one of which was left in the wake of Judge Dheebanaz Fahmy’s transfer to the High Court.

The 10 candidates who applied for judgeship at the Criminal Court are:

• Mohamed Sameer, Hivvaru, R. Inguraidhoo
• Ahmed Rifshan, Kashmirge, S. Feydhoo
• Ibrahim Ihsaan, Esheveli, S. Maradhoo
• Ummu Kulsum Aboobakr, Ranauraage, B. Hithaadhoo
• Rafeeuddin Ahmed, Snowdrop, S. Hithadhoo
• Ahmed Adam, Ethumaage, GA. Gemanafushi
• Hussain Salim, Aaru, HA. Maarandhoo
• Siyama Mohamed, Male’ Dhafthar 13194
• Ibrahim Ziuny, Billoorijehige, GA. Nilandhoo

Criminal Court judges receive a monthly salary of MVR 48,300, including a basic salary of MVR 30,000, living allowance of MVR 15,0000, and risk allowance of MVR 3,300.

Judges also receive medical insurance and phone allowance as determined by the Parliament.
