The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, is scheduled to undertake an official visit to the Maldives at Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s invitation.
Prime Minister Hun Sen, on his first official visit to the Maldives, will arrive in the country on Sunday, January 15th. He is scheduled to depart on Tuesday, January 16th.
As per the President’s Office, during the Prime Minister’s visit Maldives and Cambodia will hold official talks led by the two leaders, and a number of agreements on strengthening bilateral cooperation will be signed.
Additionally, Chambers of Commerce of both countries will also attend a business forum hosted by the Economic Ministry on the sidelines of the visit, to intensify business-to-business interactions and to enhance trade and commerce between both countries.
The Prime Minister’s visit to the Maldives will mark the first visit by a Cambodian senior government official to the island nation since former Prime Minister’s Advisor and Special Envoy Ouch Borith’s visit to the Maldives in April 2011. During this visit, Borith called on then-President Mohamed Nasheed.
