Aalim’s mother, Aminath Hassan told Sun that he went missing on the morning on December 8th. She noted that his disappearance reported to the Maldivian High Commission in India and Maldives Police Service on the same day.
Noting that Aalim’s disappearance has been reported on Indian news outlets – Aminath said that they informed her today of having not received any information regarding him.
“My son’s disappearance has been reported in Indian news. Bangalore police are also working arounf the clock to locate him. When I called today, they said he has not yet been found,” Aminath had said.
Aminath detailed that Aalim left the Centre on the morning of December 8th after threatening two guards near the gate.
“Have been informed that Aalim fled at the moment the gate was opened by the people bringing breakfast, after threatening the guards there,” she had said.
Aminath said that Aalim who has abused drugs over a long period of time subsequently has brain damage and shows symptoms of mental illness.
“No one will know whether Aalim is okay, or not. Might just come inside while I am in the kitchen and shout that he is being disturbed. Might also break anything,” she added.
“Aalim hallucinates a woman who has the same appearance as his mother that comes to disturb him. Because of this, he takes it out on me. That is what will happen, right,” Aminath explained further.
