‘Maldives 50 Best Sites: Reef Health Assessment Photo Shoot Out Competition’ organized by Tourism Ministry in collaboration with Dhiraagu and Ocean Geographic Society has kicked off on Friday.

The competition which kicked off today will continue until December 15.

Dhiraagu said that the purpose of the competition is to assess the health of Maldivian reefs, which will serve as an important guide in the country’s conservation efforts whilst also showcasing the unique underwater beauty of the Maldives.

Fifty dive sites in the Maldives have been preselected for the competition. Participants can submit their entries from one dive site, or multiple of their choosing. However, they will be mandated to submit a portfolio including five photos from each site.

A special international judging penal will assess the entries – and select first, second, third and honorable mentions from entries submitted to each dive site.

All participants in the competition will be awarded a contribution of achievement certificate for having contributed the coral reef health assessment.

Dhiraagu said that they remain committed to supporting initiative which focuses on caring for Maldivian oceans and preserving the environment – which they said is key focus of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
