High Court marks first-ever all-female judges' bench

In a first-ever, High Court held a hearing on Tuesday with an all-female judge’s bench.

High Court said that the bench comprised of Judge Fathimath Faruheeza, Judge Huzaifa Mohamed and Judge Dheebanaz Fahumy

The court comprises of 11 judges in total – of which three are women.

Although cases have been heard by judge’s benches comprising female judges at High Court previously – this is the first time a case is overseen by an all-female bench.

The case being heard by judges is an appeal submitted by Nazaki Company against Mauritius Commercial Bank.
