Pakistan High Commission extends greetings on occasion of Republic Day

Pakistan High Commission in the Maldives, on Friday, extended greetings to Maldivian citizens on the occasion of the country’s Republic Day.

The greetings were conveyed via a tweet.

“Warmest greetings to the brotherly people on the occasion of the Republic Day of Maldives. Sincere wishes for continued progress & prosperity,” the tweet read.

The High Commission, in their tweet, shared a picture of the People’s Majlis building in the Maldives – describing it as a ‘living monument of friendship’ between Pakistan and Maldives.

The People’s Majlis building was built with grant assistance of MVR 45 million, extended by the Pakistani government. The building was inaugurated on August 1, 1998, during a visit by then-Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
