Adhaalath Party has called on the government to hold a conference at national level, to determine ways to develop and operate Ibrahim Nasir International Airport.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference today at their office, President of Adhaalath Party Imran Abdullah said that the airport operation project should not be delayed, and that a conference should be held to understand relevant groups’ opinions on the matter.

“All people involved in this sector should come together soon for a national conference, the result of which should be a vision of how the airport should be operated in the future,” Imran said.

He said that the management of the airport should be handed over to capable people who are free from all political influence.

He stressed that the airport should be developed based on Maldivian ideas, however, foreign expert assistance and experience can be obtained whenever necessary.
