Two students win first place in GA. Atoll Quran competition’s by-heart category

Uthuru Huvadhoo Quran Competition's winners are presented with awards on October 29, 2022.

The winners have been selected in the Uthuru Huvadhoo Quran Competition organized by the GA. Atoll Council.

The awards were presented to the winners in a ceremony in GA. Vilingili on Saturday evening. Former Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Ali Saeed attended the ceremony as chief guest.

Students from foundation level to key stage five from nine schools in GA. Atoll participated in the competition held from Thursday to Saturday.

The schools include GA. Atoll Madrasa, GA. Atoll Education Center, Maamendhoo School, Nilandhoo School, Dhaandhoo School, Kondey School, Gemanafushi School and Kanduhulhudhoo School.

Total 167 students participated in the competition; 134 in the recitation from book category and 33 in the by-heart category.

WINNERS IN BY-HEART CATEGORY (STUDENTS):

  • First Place: Aishath Yooly Binth Lugman, Gemanafushi School
  • First Place: Yoosuf Neekan Mustafa, Sultan Mohamed School
  • Second Place: Aminath Yumsha Mohamed Moosa, Kanduhulhudhoo School
  • Third Place: Sumayya Binth Safwathulla, Gemanafushi School

WINNERS IN BY-BOOK CATEGORY (STUDENTS):

  • First Place: Adam Eem Rameez, GA. Atoll Education Center
  • Second Place: Aishath Eenal Hassan, Maamendhoo School
  • Third Place: Fathimath Sara Ahmed, GA. Atoll Madrasa
  • Third Place: Ali Malik Majeed, Kanduhulhudhoo School

WINNERS IN BY-HEART CATEGORY (SCHOOLS):

  • First Place: Kanduhulhudhoo School
  • Second Place: GA. Atoll Education Center
  • Third Place: Sultan Mohamed School

WINNERS IN BY-BOOK CATEGORY (SCHOOLS):

  • First Place: Gemanafushi School
  • Second Place: Maamendhoo School
  • Third Place: GA. Atoll Education Center

According to the GA. Atoll Council, the winners received cash prizes from both the council and benefactors.

The council thanked Vilingili for the warm welcome the students, parents and officials received.

The council ruled the competition a success.
