Prominent Islamic scholar from Zimbabwe, Ismail ibn Musa Menk (Mufti Menk) has arrived in the Maldives, a visit being undertaken at the invitation of Islamic Ministry.
He was welcomed by Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali, upon his arrival at Velana International Airport.
In his four-day visit to the Maldives, Mufti Menk is scheduled to deliver lectures in Male’ City, Fuvahmulah City, and Addu City. He will also be delivering the sermon and leading the Friday prayer at the Islamic Centre tomorrow. The sermon will be delivered on the topic ‘Revive Your Connection with Allah’.
On October 28, he will lecture at the Alimas Carnival in Male’; on October 29, he will lecture at the football stadium in Fuvahmulah City; and on October 30, he will lecture at the Synthetic Track in Hulhumale’ and the City Square in Addu.
The first lecture Male’ City will focus on depression, anxiety and stress. The lecture at Fuvahmulah City will be regarding Islam, kindness and benevolence. Meanwhile, the lecture in Hulhumale’ will focus on dealing with family problems. The topic for Addu City’s lecture is ‘Productive Muslim’.
The lectures will be open to public, and will be broadcasted live through TV, radio and social media. Questions will not be taken from the audience.
Apart from the aforementioned lectures – Mufti Menk will also be holding a lecture for employees of the President’s Office, and other government offices.
Mufti Menk last visited Maldives in 2020, which followed visits in 2015 and 2016.
