Bank of Maldives (BML) has entered into an agreement with the Maldives Surfing Association (MSA) to become the official sponsor of all national surf teams.
BML said it signed the agreement as part of the bank’s commitment to support the development of sports in Maldives.
As part of the partnership, BML will also support the annual National Junior Surfing Championship organized by MSA, to promote the development of young talent in the sport.
BML’s In-charge and Acting MD Aishath Noordeen said the bank was proud to partner with MSA through the BML Islamic arm.
“Like many, we continue to be impressed by the talent of local surfers and through this partnership, we hope to make a real difference in promoting the sport and supporting young athletes achieve their professional dreams,” she said.
BML has made investment in sports with partnerships with national associations of football, swimming and tennis. The bank recently announced its Sports Scholarship for top athletes in association with Maldives Olympic Committee, as part of its 40th Anniversary monthly initiatives.
