Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has accepted the decision by High Court Judge Shuaib Hassan Zakariyya to retire.
In a statement on Wednesday, JSC said Shuaib asked to retire due to health reasons.
JSC made the decision to accept his request on Sunday.
His retirement will take effect November 22.
Shuaib has been serving as a judge since June 1, 1999. He was appointed to the High Court on March 26, 2011.
He attained his Bachelor of Law and Sharia from Qatar University in 1997, and his Masters of Comparative Law from the International Islamic University of Malaysia in 2006.
He has previously served as legal officer and special judge at the Justice Ministry, a judge at Family Court, and chief judge at Civil Court and Juvenile Court. He also taught at Majeedhiyya School and Faculty of Islamic Studies and Faculty of Sharia and Law.
