Bank of Maldives (BML) on Sunday stated that there may be temporary interruptions to e-commerce transactions from Visa Card.
A statement was released by BML, informing customers of this.
In a statement, the bank said that this was due to “an ongoing essential upgrade to enhance security of our cards and payment gateway.”

“… customers will face interruptions in using BML issued Visa Debit and Credit cards on some international e-commerce merchants,” read the statement.
BML noted that customers can continue using their Visa Cards as per usual from ATMs and POS machines abroad during this period.
Furthermore, the bank assured that they were working swiftly to resume the services, adding that they will be informed once it is completed.
Additionally, BML apologized in the statement from their customers for any inconvenience this may cause.
They also expressed their gratitude for customers' patience in such instances.
