Over 100,000 tourist arrivals to the Maldives in September

Statistics publicized by Maldives Immigration show that over 100,000 tourists visited the Maldives in September 2022.

The statistics publicized on Tuesday show that Maldives recorded a total of 111,986 tourist arrivals in September 2022. This is an increase of 2,910 tourists compared to the same period last year. Maldives recorded 111,896 tourist arrivals during September 2021.

The highest number of tourist arrivals were recorded during September 2022 from Russia, India and UK respectively. In this regard, 20,341 tourist arrivals were recorded from Russia, 15,394 tourist arrivals were recorded from India and 8,852 tourist arrivals were recorded from the UK.

Last month also an increase in tourist arrivals from new markets. Tourist arrivals from Australia and American countries had increased.

As the high tourism season impends, Maldives is expecting to see a further hike in tourist arrivals.
