President Ibrahim Mohamed on Saturday said that one of the most valuable lessons derived from the life of Prophet Muhammad (PUHH) is accepting each other's differences and coexisting in harmony with strong fraternal bonds.
He made this statement in the official written address to the nation on the occasion of Eid Milad ul-Nabi, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
President Solih further said that Muslims celebrate Eid Milad ul-Nabi in order to remember the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) so that we can bless our lives in this world and the hereafter.
Moreover, he emphasized the strong ties that existed amongst Muslim communities for centuries and went on to attribute the Islamic empire’s past successes to the unity of Muslims and their acceptance of other cultures.
In addition to this, President Solih also reflected on how Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) promoted unity and urged Maldivians to make positive changes in their lives as we celebrate this auspicious occasion each year.
He also encouraged all Muslims to be virtuous and to apply the tenets of Islam that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) demonstrated in their daily lives.
