A’Level examinations commenced on Monday in Maldives.

The exams started off with Higher Secondary Certification (HSC) Dhivehi examinations. Meanwhile, the Edexcel examinations are due to begin on October 10.

Department of Public Examinations (DPE) said to Sun that the tests will be conducted in 40 centres across the country. From this, 36 centres are located in the atolls while the remaining four are in Male’.

Moreover, DPE stated that 1,200 students will sit for the HSC exams, and 2,785 will be doing the Edexcel ones.

Ministry of Education announced earlier this year that from 2023 onwards, students in Maldives will be sitting for Cambridge International As and A’Level examinations instead of the Edexcel ones.

However, students that began A’level this year will continue doing Edexcel exams.
