President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Monday, has revealed plans to increase the allowance issued to persons with disabilities.

He said that WDCs would be able to produce results once a better working environment is created for them, and their concerns in executing their responsibilities are addressed including financial constraints.
“I believe we should think about making WDCs a body people are elected for fulltime work,” he added.

He underscored not having received support from Male’ City Council for both projects initially. However, he said the council began rendering full cooperation following discussions at one table.
