Met issues yellow alert for northern Maldives

The Maldives Meteorological Services (MET) on Saturday issued a yellow alert for torrential rain to the northern region of Maldives.

The alert was issued from Kaafu Atoll to Addu City, from 23:00 hrs on Saturday till 03:00 hrs on Sunday.

It was predicted that heavy rains, with gusts of 45mph are to be expected along with rough seas.

 Met Office had earlier issued a white alert for Kaafu Atoll to Gdh. Atoll.
