The order to close down Spas in my Resorts is a big crime: Gasim

Member of Parliament for Maamigili and Chairman of Villa Hotels Gasim Ibrahim has said that the accusation of prostitution being exercised in the spas in five of Villa Hotels’ Resorts is a lie, and that the government has perpetrated a crime by ordering the closure of these spas.

“The letters were sent to my islands last night by the Ministry of Tourism. As far as I know, it is only my islands that received these letters. I have now asked a special team of Lawyers to look into this matter,” Gasim said.

The famous businessman said that the accusation of prostitution being exercised in the spas in his resorts is an outright lie. He also said that this was planned in advance.

“This crime has been perpetuated because I advocate the protection of Judges and Judiciary, because I speak in this regard on VTV and Majlis... this is nothing new, is it?” Gasim asked.

Gasim said that the accusation and order to close down the spas on the resorts are in conflict with the Constitution, and that further comments on this matter will be made exclusively by the appointed Lawyers.

It was last night that the Ministry of Tourism ordered the closure of the spas operated on five of Gasim’s resorts, claiming the exercise of prostitution in these spas. Gasim also heavily criticized the government via his own TV Channel, VTV last night.
