BML announces 5 winners for second phase of Community Fund 2022

Bank of Maldives (BML), on Wednesday, has announced the five winners of the second phase of this year’s ‘Aharenge Bank Community Fund’.

Aharenge Bank Community Fund’ is a prominent part of BML’s Corporate Social Responsibility – which aims to empower local individuals and NGOs to contribute to their communities by way of sustainable projects.

Administered in four quarters, the Bank selects five successful proposals for community-based projects falling under the themes; education, environment, sports and community development – in each phase. Each winning proposal will be awarded MVR 50,000 to implement the proposed project.

The five winning proposals under the second phase of this year’s the Community Fund were announced today. They are:

  1. Fish filleting platform at AA. Himandhoo. Submitted by Club New Friends
  2. Installation of RO machines and water dispensers in AA. Bodufulhadhoo School, submitted by Revolutionary Bodufulhadhoo Generation
  3. Fish filleting platform at HDh. Neykurandhoo, submitted by Association for Neykurandhoo Development
  4. Renovation of pre-school park at ADh. Fenfushi, submitted by Fenfushi Zuvaanunge Dhirun
  5. Fish filleting platform at Dh. Hulhudheli submitted by Hulhudheli Island Social & Sports Association

BML said that they have provided financial assistance for 70 projects across the country so far through its Community Fund. The bank is set to support 10 more projects under the initiative this year.
