Dhiraagu signs as digital partner for Western Asian Youth Chess Festival

Local telecom company, Dhiraagu has signed as the digital partner for Western Asian Youth Chess Festival set to take place at AA. Ukulhas.

At a special ceremony held – the partnership agreement was signed by Dhiraagu’s Assistant Brand Manager Naiya Shareef and the President of Maldives Chess Association Hussain Shiyan.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Naiya said that Dhiraagu is delighted to support the growing sport of chess in the Maldives – adding that the telecom company was extremely proud of Maldivian athletes representing the country at the competition.

“We are delighted to be the Digital Partner for Western Asian Youth Chess Festival 2022 and support the growing sport in the Maldives. We are extremely proud of our athletes representing the country and wish them all the very best,” she had said.

Meanwhile, Shiyan thanked Dhiraagu for the company’s support in the development of Maldivian chess – expressing excitement for collaborations.

“We would like to thank Dhiraagu for their support for the development of Maldives’ Chess. We are very excited for future collaborations and looking forward to take the sport to the next level,” he had said.

Western Asian Youth Festival is the region’s most competitive chess competitions for junior athletes. Representative athletes from Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan are set to go head to head in three formats: rapid chess, beach blitz chess, and traditional chess during the competition which will be held from June 15 to June 23.
