Former Assistant Attorney General Ismail Wisham has been appointed as President of Bar Council.
Wisham won the elections on Saturday by beating Mohamed Faisal. Wisham won 270 votes while Faisal won 182 votes.
Meanwhile, Mizna Ahmed was elected as Vice President. She was the sole contender for the position, and the council therefore took a yes or no vote.
The election was held using an electronic voting system.
The elections come with the term of the first executive committee of the Bar Council set to expire on July 13.
