Home Minister Imran Abdulla has stated that the discipline of a nation’s youth is necessary for ensuring internal security and stability – adding that a nation’s future is built upon the strength of its youths’ backbone.
Minister Imran had made the remark at the inauguration of Youth Leaders Forum, held at Sh, Milandhoo on Thursday.
In this regard, he stated that any nation will rapidly progress should it be a home to a generation of healthy, educated, skilled, productive, energetic and disciplined youths. Underscoring that brave youths have stood up to counter major crises Maldives has faced – Minister Imran expressed hope that the current generation of youth is similarly prepared and determined to lead the nation.
Youth Leaders Forum will see the participation of approximately 100 youths from 13 islands in Shaviyani Atoll.
The forum is organized by the Youth Leaders Network, established by the Home Ministry with local college and university students.
Minister Imran said that the purpose of the establishment of such a network by the Ministry and carrying out such forums is to increase the participation of youth in the Ministry’s responsibility to maintain the internal security and stability of the country.
