Two Maldivians imprisoned in Pakistan

The government of Pakistan has informed the government of Maldives that two Maldivians have been imprisoned in Pakistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the government of Pakistan informed today that Nadhal Rasheed of H. Dhoohimerige and Hussain Naaz of M. Madhan have been in prison since June 2012.

The Pakistan authorities did not indicate a reason for their arrest.

Foreign Ministry said that more information will be revealed as soon as it is obtained, and that efforts in this regardare under way.
