Maldives to celebrate 50 years of tourism with dive event, photo competition

Tourism Ministry has announced plans to hold a dive event and photo competition to celebrate 50 years of tourism in Maldives.

Tourism Ministry will be holding the events in collaboration with Ocean Geographic and Maldives Alliance for Dive Operators.

Speaking during a press conference at the Tourism Ministry on Sunday, Ocean Geographic’s Director said that the event involves diving in 50 dive points simultaneously.

The is scheduled to take place from 07:30 am to 05:30 pm on September 29.

The photo competition will take place during the event. Entrance is free for Maldivian photographers, while a USD 10 fee will be charged for foreign photographers.

150 pictures taken during the event will be showcased during an exhibition next year.

The panel of judges will be composed of both local and foreign experts.
