Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has formulated a five-year plan to empower women.
In a press statement released today, the company underscored that through research conducted to formulate the said plan, they have found four areas that need improvement. They are:
MWSC has come up with various steps to effectively address these issues.
They include the appointment of at least one woman to managerial committees, and increasing this number by 33 percent within the next five years.
In addition to this, to increase the number of opportunities for women, training programs on different levels are to be conducted. Special meetings will also be held to understand the role of men in women empowerment.
