A regulation has been formulated on letting places such as row houses and flats issued by the government under social housing schemes.

The regulation which was formulated under the Residential Tenancy Act has been publicized in the government’s gazette, thus coming into force.

As per the regulation, a part of a row house or flat may be let.

However, such places can only be let in adherence to the guidelines stipulated by the government authority which carried out the project, with their permit.

The regulation stipulates that places issued under social housing schemes can be let for a maximum period of five years.

“Only the owner of a row house, flat, land plot and such places issued under government’s social housing schemes can request to let the place,” the regulation also read.

In addition to this, when requesting a permit to let a place or part of a place issued under a social housing scheme, a no objection letter from the government authority which handled the project must be submitted alongside other necessary documents.
