Maldives records additional 607 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 607 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 163,581.     

Meanwhile, 743 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 147,910.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 15,368 active cases.      

There are 28 patients in hospitals.      

2,823 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

February 18:  607 cases 

February 17:  805 cases 

February 16: 1,056 cases 

February 15: 1,037 cases 

February 14: 1,015 cases 

February 13:  1,030 cases 

February 12:  1,128 cases 

Maldives has recorded 290 COVID-19 deaths. 

Maldives began its vaccination campaign in February. The country expanded the campaign to begin vaccinating children between 12 years and 17 years of age in August, and began administering booster doses in October. 

As of present, 398,056 people have received their first dose and 370,688 people have been fully vaccinated, and 116,629 have received their booster dose.
