Male’ City Council has announced that the online portal set up for submission of applications for parking slots up for lease in Male’ City will open on Thursday, and that forms applicants attempted to submit on Wednesday will also be accepted.

The portal was originally scheduled to open on Wednesday. However, many of the applicants were unable to access the portal as it was blocked shortly after it opened.

Male’ City Council has announced that the portal will open at 02:00 pm on Thursday.

Male’ City Council’s spokesperson Mariyam Shiuna told Sun that the issues immediately arose after the council opened the portal at 01:00 pm on Wednesday.

She said that the council looked into whether it had been a technical issue.

Shiuna said that the council created a new link after the original link was blocked, but was unable to identify the applicants who first accessed the portal.

“That moment alone showed how important parking was to people. Some 84,000 people tried to access the portal,” she said.

Shiuna said that the portal will therefore be reopened on Thursday to allow everyone an equal opportunity to apply for parking.
