Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Tuesday that a COVID-19 patient admitted at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility has passed away.

HPA identified the deceased as a 77-year-old Maldivian female.

She passed away at 03:32 am on Tuesday.

“This is the 285th COVID-19 death in the Maldives,” confirmed HPA in a tweet.

The country currently has 16,775 active cases. 60 of the patients are hospitalized.
