Missing Maldivian youth found dead in Sri Lanka

Maldivian youth reported missing in Sri Lanka has been found dead, authorities have confirmed.

The 22-year-old Afham Naseer (23) from Dh.Kudahuvadhoo was reported missing on Saturday.

A member of his family who spoke to ‘Sun’ stated that the Sri Lankan authorities have confirmed his body was found at near a railway track in Dehiwala beach area.

“The Sri Lankan intelligence revealed to me that his body was found with a knife and had wounds on his neck,” said the family member.

Additionally, the family revealed that authorities brought in the last person who met Afham and confirmed that the body found was his.

Although a knife was found with his body, family does not believe that it would be with the body had he inflicted the wounds himself.

The Sri Lankan authorities are further investigating the case.

Afham moved to Lanka three years ago to seeking higher studies in Business.
