Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs signed an agreement to build a mosque in the Hulhumale Phase 2.

During the agreement signing ceremony, Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Ahmed Zahir signed on behalf of the government, while Managing Director of HDC Suhail Ahmed signed from the company.

The mosque was designed by HDC and building work will be done by the Islamic Ministry.

HDC revealed that the land plot was 30,655 square feet, and the mosque will be 1,400, including the court area. They also stated that the mosque can accommodate 1,400 people.

Additionally, HDC said that when designing this mosque, they took into consideration the space issues faced by mosques in the Male' area. Hence, the courtyard area is designed for large groups of people to be able to sit and has a parking area that can park 139 motorcycles.

Furthermore, the corporation highlighted that issues such as crowing when coming out after prayers, particularly in Ramadan will be reduced in this mosque.

The mosque will display different craftsmanship once completed as per HDC.
