Higher Education Minister Dr. Ibrahim Hassan has stated that assistance from the private sector is necessary for developing people in the field of tourism.

At a press conference held today, Minister Ibrahim said that human resource development courses can only be carried out through the collaboration of the government and the private sector.

Noting that an announcement was made on last Tuesday seeking a party to carry out courses in the tourism sector, to include construction and ICT, under the Skills for a Resilient Workforce Program – the Minister said that the cooperation of private sector is needed more than before in this endeavor.

Minister Ibrahim also detailed that human resource development courses which were carried out by contracting to 15 parties – have successfully concluded, with the certificate awarding currently pending.

“Ministry took part in the ceremony where one of the parties awarded certification to 83 students very happily,” he added.

Therefore, Minister Ibrahim also expressed hope to receive cooperation from the private sector for the second announcement made seeking parties to conduct human resource courses.

He also urged more people to apply for the courses than before.
