Judicial Service Commission has commenced efforts to conduct the performance evaluation of some judges sitting in superior courts.

In the pilot project of performance evaluation – a total of 29 judges from Criminal Court, Civil Court, Drug Court, Family Court and Juvenile Court will be assessed.

They include:

  • 10 judges from Civil Court
  • 6 judges from Family Court
  • 4 judges from Criminal Court

JSC has publicized separate forms which are to be filled by court staff, lawyers and individuals seeking court services as part of the performance evaluation. The Commission assured that the identity of those filling the forms will be protected.

Performance evaluation of judges is a work that is to be carried out by JSC every two years. However, this is the first time a performance evaluation is actually being conducted.
