Country session on Maldives to take place at CII’s Partnership Summit

Speakers who will deliver addresses during Maldives' Country Session at Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Partnership Summit.

A country session on Maldives is scheduled to be held as part of Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Partnership Summit.

CII’s Partnership Summit is a premier business event held annually by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Whilst the Partnership Summit is taking place from December 13 to December 15 – the special country session on Maldives is scheduled from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on December 15.

Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail is set to give the keynote address in the Maldives’ session. The High Commissioner of India to the Maldives Dr. Munu Mahawar and the High Commissioner of Maldives to India Dr. Hussain Niyaz will also give speeches during the session.

An official from Indian Embassy told Sun that the summit is a platform that brings together world leaders, leaders of multilaterals, global CEOs and experts to one place to engage and participate in debates on global economic dimensions through a number of sessions.

The official said that the country session on Maldives is one of the eight special sessions taking place in the Summit – further detailing this as a testament to the growing commercial and economic ties between India and Maldives.

In the country session on Maldives – leaders of five Indian companies established in the Maldives will share their experiences. These five companies are Taj Hotel, State Bank of India, Afcons Infrastructure, Atmosphere Group and Sri Avantika.

In addition to this, Economic Ministry will be briefing participants on the topic ‘Economic Outlook and Investment Opportunities in the Maldives’ during the session.
