COVID-19: 129 new cases; 2,097 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Wedesday, announced 129 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 89,255.      

According to HPA, the 129 new cases include; 20 cases from the greater Male’ region, 103 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 2 cases from operational resorts, and 4 cases from liveaboards. 

Meanwhile, 112 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 86,899.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,097 active cases.      

There are 15 patients in hospitals.      

3,424 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,086 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 2 percent. 

With the 129 new infections on Wednesday, 978 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.  

November 10: 129 cases 

November 9: 160 cases 

November 8: 149 cases 

November 7:  182 cases 

November 6: 119 cases 

November 5: 130 cases 

November 4: 109 cases 

Maldives has recorded 246 COVID-19 deaths.
