COVID-19: 119 new cases; 2,075 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 119 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 88,635.      

According to HPA, the 119 new cases include; 18 cases from the greater Male’ region, 96 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 5 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 12 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 86,302.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,075 active cases.      

There are 28 patients in hospitals.      

3,685 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,124 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 1 percent. 

With the 119 new infections on Saturday, 1,007 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.   

November 6: 119 cases 

November 5: 130 cases 

November 4: 109 cases 

November 3: 219 cases 

November 2: 143 cases 

November 1: 131 cases 

October 31: 146 cases 

Maldives has recorded 245 COVID-19 deaths.
