President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Wednesday, arrived in London to attend the World Travel Market (WTM).
President Solih and his delegation headed to London after attending the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland.
WTM is one of the largest and most important global events for the travel and tourism markets. It is held as a hybrid event this year, with the physical event taking place in ExCel London from November 1 to November 3 – and a virtual event taking place the week after from November 8 to November 9.
WTM London brands itself as the discovery point for a new wave of ideas, technologies, and solutions that would enable the next generation of travel businesses to emerge and thrive.
Maldives is taking part in the event – with the nation’s stand at the expo having over 58 local travel and tourism companies participating to promote the island nation as a tourist destination.
President Solih and his delegation will visit the Maldives’ Stand at WTM London.
In 2020 – WTM was held as a fully virtual event due to the constraints arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
