Maldives crowned Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination 2021 at World Travel Awards

Maldives has been crowned Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination 2021 at the World Travel Awards.

Established in 1993 – World Travel Awards acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. The brand is recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence.

Apart from being crowned as the Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination – Maldives has also been crowned Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination and Indian Ocean’s Leading Dive Destination. In addition to this, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) was crowned Indian Ocean’s Leading Tourist Board.

Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) was crowned Indian Ocean’s Leading Seaplane Operator.

Meanwhile, Get Into Maldives was crowned Indian Ocean’s Leading Luxury Tour Operator and Simply Maldives Holidays was crowned Indian Ocean’s Leading Travel Agency.

In last year’s World Travel Awards – Maldives had won World Leading Destination Award. Whilst the country is nominated for the title once again this year – the winner will be announced next month during a special ceremony held in Russia.

Maldives is competing with 18 other countries for the award.
