Nazim goes to DJA over Shujau leaking screenshots accusing him of influencing the judiciary

Renowned lawyer and the younger brother of Parliament Speaker, former President Mohamed Nasheed, Nazim Sattar has filed a request with the Department of Judicial Adminstration (DJA) asking to probe into the matter of former High Court Chief Justice Shujau Usman leaking a bunch of screenshots accusing Nazim of influencing the judiciary.

In a letter sent addressed to Chief Judicial Administrator Aishath Rizna – Nazim had requested that the screenshots of text messages sent by him to an administrative staff of the High Court being leaked be investigated.

In the screenshots of texts leaked by Shujau Usman via a tweet accusing Nazim of being amongst the individuals who influence the cases lodged at the High Court – Nazim had inquired about the proceedings of some of the High Court cases and also had demanded that particular cases not be assigned to particular judges.

Shujau also alleged that in such cases – the court follows the instructions of Nazim.
