Former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that he recognises the examples set by the people, and their adherence to Islamic principles when providing assistance to one another following the bad weather experienced in the country.
A short statement issued by the former President today says that the he is with the people of Maldives in their sorrow caused by bad weather, in a country which is forced to cope with the adverse effects of climate change.
He noted the devastation experienced especially by Ha. Hoarafushi, Baarah, Hanimaadhoo, Adu City’s Hulhudhoo and Feydhoo, and Gn. Fuvahmulah.
Heavy rains are being experienced all over the Maldives. The bad weather has left several islands flooded and people’s houses and household items damaged.
