A COVID-19 patient that was transferred to Hulhumale’ Medical Facility (HMF) in serious condition, for further treatment from HDh. Nolhivaram has passed away.
As per information received to Sun, the individual who had passed away is an 87-year-old man. He had been transferred to HMF from Nolhivaram last week.
His death increases the number of COVID-19 fatalities in the Maldives to 229.
Nolhivaram Council had told Sun that they were informed of the death of a Nolhivaram resident at HMF sometime this afternoon.
The Council also noted that number of active cases in Nolhivaram has increased to 166 as of present.
This is the second COVID-19 death within this week. In this regard, an 89-year-old Maldivian man admitted at GDh. Thinathoo Covid Management Facility passed away yesterday evening.
During the last 24-hours, HPA has announced 86 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 83,248.
According to HPA, the 86 new cases include; 34 cases from the greater Male’ region, 36 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 16 cases from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 144 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 81,234.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,774 active cases.
