Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Wednesday, announced 92 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 83,162.
According to HPA, the 92 new cases include; 38 cases from the greater Male’ region, 51 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 3 case from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 141 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 81,090.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,832 active cases.
There are 21 patients in hospitals.
5,526 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,387 from the greater Male' region.
With the 92 new infections this Wednesday, 798 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

Maldives has recorded 227 COVID-19 deaths.
Maldives began its vaccination campaign in February. The country expanded the campaign to begin vaccinating children between 12 years and 17 years of age in August.
As of Tuesday, 389,821 people have received their first dose and 325,154 people have been fully vaccinated.
