Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, announced 120 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 83,070.
According to HPA, the 120 new cases include; 48 cases from the greater Male’ region, 66 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 6 case from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 175 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 80,949.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,881 active cases.
There are 18 patients in hospitals.
4,729 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,920 from the greater Male' region.
With the 120 new infections this Tuesday, 806 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

Maldives has recorded 227 COVID-19 deaths.
Maldives began its vaccination campaign in February. The country has also begun vaccinating children above the age of 12 years.
As of Monday, 389,557 people have received their first dose and 323,679 people have been fully vaccinated.
