COVID-19: Maldives begins administering second vaccine dose to children

Maldives has begun administering the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine to children between 12 and 17 years of age.

An official from Education Ministry told Sun the administration of the second vaccine dose began last Monday.

Education Ministry states that the administration of the second dose will be conducted the same way as the first dose.

Maldives began administering COVID-19 vaccine to school students on August 15. Children between 12 and 17 years of age are administered Pfizer vaccine.

More than 40,000 school students will be vaccinated under the program.
